*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for an_*_*Division Controller*_*__*-DHITIC*_. The right candidate will direct the overall accounting activities of the company, including administering accounting policies and directives, plus assisting in development of corporate policies and procedures. Direct responsibility for financial reporting, cash management, financial analysis, budgeting, audit administration, expense oversight, and accurate recording and tracking of all financial transactions. Oversee regulatory and statutory audits and statistical reporting with strict adherence to reporting deadlines.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to evaluate operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company
* Responsible for the direction and development of staff and all associated human resource activities in the department (e.g. hiring, terminations, performance reviews, training, disciplinary action, allocation of merit increases, managing absenteeism, etc.)
* Ensure the maintenance of all records necessary to maintain and control the operations
* Prepare reports that outline the companys financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations
* Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures, and analyze and report variances
* Determine the proper accounting treatment of complex or unusual transactions/cases
* Ensure reporting, payments, reimbursements, etc. are balanced and completed accurately and timely
* Act as primary liaison with external auditors, banking institutions, and other external partners
* Administer and lead special projects and analyses to draw conclusions and make recommendations
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

*Supervisory Responsibilities*

Directly manages two or more employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

*Education and/or Experience*

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university
* Six to eight years related experience and/or training
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Superb organizational and time management skills
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email

*Preferred Qualifications*

* Certified Public Accountant preferred
* Big 4 experience a plus
* Knowledge of SEC regulations
