We are currently initiating a search a Consultant, Electrical Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office.
This Charlotte location provides comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and energy systems engineering design services. The majority of our projects are in Healthcare, Higher Education Facilities, Government Facilities, Laboratories and Mission Critical Facilities. Our focus and expertise for mechanical and electrical system design includes heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power distribution, lighting, and communications systems.  The group is experienced in facility master planning, utility infrastructure and the design and evaluation of central heating and cooling plants, providing HVAC system testing and balancing services as well as mechanical and electrical commissioning services for all project types.
Consultant, Electrical Engineer
We are seeking a full-time electrical engineer with 3-7 years of professional experience for our Charlotte, NC  (South Blvd) office to design electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare and institutional buildings. Electrical systems include power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications, with a focus on electrical infrastructure systems such as cogeneration plants, emergency power generator plants, substations, and switchgear.
  • Under the supervision of a project manager, the electrical engineer will perform: 
  • Field survey and documentation 
  • Design calculations 
  • Equipment selections 
  • Layout of electrical systems, including: floor plans, schematic riser diagrams, details and schedules 
  • Create specifications 
  • Participate in construction administration activities
  • Develop Infrastructure Master Plan and Concept Reports
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited college or university 
  • P.E. license
  • Healthcare experience
