WSP is currently initiating a search for an Electrical Engineer II for our Boston, Massachusetts office.
 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
1) Position involves performing electrical engineering and design for transit, industrial, commercial and institutional projects and may include the following typical duties:
  1. Prepare design criteria documents, calculations, drawings and specifications for electrical systems including power distribution, standby power, lighting, communications, fire alarm, security and various other special systems.
  2. Develop cost estimates for electrical systems, including performing quantity take-offs.
  3. Provide support during construction activities.
2) Project assignments may include, although not limited to, vehicular or rail tunnels, transportation centers, transit maintenance facilities, parking structures, bridge infrastructure or pump stations.
 
3) This is an excellent technical position for a proficient engineer to influence production of engineering design for a national client base in an internationally recognized global firm in a field designated for expansion.

Requirements

<div><strong>Experience Requirements:</strong></div> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required</li> <li>At least 3 years’ experience in engineering and design of building or infrastructure electrical systems including standby power, lighting, and special systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation and proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.  Experience with Revit is a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with NFPA Standards and applicable building codes is a plus.  Must be familiar with the National Electrical Code.</li> <li>Experience to include:  electrical design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support.  Areas of experience should include one or more of the following categories of facilities:  Vehicular and rail tunnels, telecommunications, transit, aviation, industrial, commercial, educational, healthcare, or governmental.</li> <li>Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification is a plus.</li> <li>Ability to work in this country immediately required.</li> <li>Preference will be given to local area candidates for employment in our Boston office.</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA </strong></div> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
