As a world-wide leader of environmental and transportation consulting and planning services, we invite you to be a part of that vision.  Our Environmental Planning group in Northern California, is looking for a Senior Lead Environmental Project Manager to support and add to our wide and diverse range of environmental planning services that enables future-ready growth. This position would be located in one of our Northern California offices in San Francisco, Oakland, or Sacramento.
Duties and Responsibilities:

*Work as part of the Planning & Environmental team in the San Franciscso, Oakland, San Jose, and Sacramento offices to promote and provide for a vibrant, collaborative and enriching office environment
*Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, and task manager on multi-disciplinary projects and pursuits throughout the Northern California region, including environmental planning studies and document development pursuant to CEQA and NEPA.
*Develop and nurture client relationships to grow business opportunities: lead and engage in business development efforts including client meetings and presentations to gather information on current and pending future programs or projects.
*Lead pursuits and proposal efforts for environmental planning work
*Oversee the work of planners and technicians performing highly complex environmental planning activities 
*Review documents for compliance with contract requirements and quality of technical content 
*Prepare, present and review technical information to internal and external working groups 
*Determine and prepare scope, schedule and budget/fee requirements and monitoring project progress  
*Assist in broader office-wide activities around major project pursuits and strategies
*Mentor junior staff
*Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Planning/Environmental Planning, Sustainability, or closely related field
*10+ years of experience managing and leading teams in the delivery of high quality environmental and planning projects
*Outstanding professional communication and management skills, highlighting a track-record of leading and coordinating activities of multiple staff in complex team environments
*Strong experience in client relationship development and business development activities
*A core understanding of the role of environmental principles and practices in the broader development and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects within a variety of market sectors, particularly major urban transportation and infrastructure projects
*Experience coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies
*A positive attitude and a proven ability to exude calm under pressure
*Interest in mentoring and managing junior staff
*Ability to travel out of the immediate area and to work outside of regular work hours if needed
*Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Scheduling software (Microsoft Project and/or P6)
*Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
*Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:

*Masters Degree in Planning/Environmental Planning, Sustainability, or similar discipline
*Experience working on various transportation-focused projects, including bus, rail and roadway engineering/design projects
*Experience with working with public agencies in Northern California, including Caltrans, VTA, MTC, BART, and TRPA, among others
*Active member of local professional organization (AEP, WTS, ACEC, APA)
