Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Estimating:
• Evaluate scope of work and RFQ’s from customers including drawings, specifications, and schedules
• Prepare material take-offs based on drawings and specifications
• Source and price materials as needed to prepare estimates
• Assign labor man-hours for processing of work
• Source and obtain pricing for sublet work
• Work with customers to ensure their exact requirements are being satisfied and also work to bring additional value to the project
• For design/build projects, work with engineering or utilize other resources as needed
• Assist with internal processes and approvals as necessary for bidding
• Prepare detailed proposals, including schedule, payment terms, terms & conditions.
• Prepare estimate summary, project data sheet, and ensure all documentation is properly distributed
• Participate in kick-off meetings prior to start of fabrication as required
• Follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction after completion of project

Required Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in steel fabrication estimating preferred, but previous experience not required at time of hire
Work Environment/Physical and Ergonomic Requirements
• In general, this job requires sitting (often working on a computer), Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hand and wrists.
• Dexterity: Ability to type using a keyboard with relative efficiency, ability to make handwritten notes and sketches indoors and outdoors at industrial plant and construction sites at any time of the year.
• Visual Acuity: Ability to discern single line and 3 dimensional computer images representing objects being designed or drafting including ability to discern colors. This includes close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
