WSP is currently initiating a search for a Field Engineer for our New York, New York office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand plans, specification and submittals.
  • Coordinate and help review and process technical submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs and assist in resolution of comments or conflicts.
  • Prepare/review daily inspection QA oversight reports
  • Observe Design/Builders QA/QC program to coordinate, track and verify material sampling and testing requirements and reporting.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the document control system, manually and digitally.
  • Routinely perform field inspection as directed by the Construction Compliance Manager.
  • Assist the Construction Compliance Manager with overall project administration, documentation and record keeping.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering, Architecture, CM or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in construction oversight or engineering
  • Design Build CM experience preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary construction – architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical
  • Self-starter with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills – Written and Verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively in an integrated organization
  • Ability to work nights and weekends on demand
  • Ability to participate and conduct work related tasks in a field environment
  • Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
