The Big Picture:

Responsible for providing financial and analytical support for Mortensons construction business and emerging non-construction businesses, with emphasis on new and/or growing supply chain, manufacturing, equipment rental and integrative service businesses. Delivering high-level information and insights to assist Business leaders in their operational roles.

 

Responsibilities

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Financial Planning, Reporting & Forecasting Non-Construction Businesses
  • Be an active participant in the annual financial planning process by supporting Finance managers and Business leaders with the compilation of the annual plan for their business units
  • Develop standard financial models and reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis
  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis
  • Communicate financial results and estimates inclusive of detailed summaries, reports, recommendations and variance analysis to assist in managerial decision making
  • Assist in the design of relevant and reflective dashboards of key internal and external metrics
  •  

  • Capital Expenditure Planning, Analysis & Reporting
  • Coordinate development of the annual capital equipment budget and IRR model, followed by:
  • Spend and depreciation tracking
  • Analysis and recommendations for buy/lease options on equipment
  • Post mortem analysis on capital investment decisions
  •  Evaluate and provide Return on Investment analysis for various segments of the business

     

  • Cash Flow Monitoring for New Entities
  • Weekly report out of pertinent cash related metrics to management
  • Cash monitoring and forecasting for new business entities
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum three years of professional experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis and modeling experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate financial information to all levels of the organization
  • Curious learner, interested in connecting dots and possessing context for work responsibilities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions
  • Self-motivated, capable of working autonomously and collaboratively as needed
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, pivoting between recurring responsibilities and ad-hoc projects
