Job Description:

Parsons Unconventional Access portfolio provides rapid response embedded hardware and software capabilities in support of Cyber Operations missions. Our specific contract efforts support development and procurement initiatives across several projects delivering focused HW/SW capability to extend our customers' deployable intellectual property.

Our technical teams primarily comprise Computer Scientists, Test Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers and Hardware Design Engineers with extensive experience in embedded operating systems, MCMs, FPGAs, and printed circuit board fabrication with focused skills spanning network protocols, operating systems and languages including C, Python, JavaScript, GNU tools, and Linux.

This immediate opening is positioned in some of the most sought-after work in this development and engineering community. The FPGA Designer will work as part of an integrated team to formulate and define solutions utilizing a strong background in VHDL and SystemVerilog foundations. We are focused on providing our customers expertise to leverage their existing software and create new capabilities. Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI w/Polygraph
  • 12+ years of experience in hardware design engineering
  • Experience with developing, simulating, and testing FPGA designs written in VHDL and SystemVerilog for Xilinx FPGAs using industry standard tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering

Desired Qualifications (Note that a candidate does not necessarily need to possess all of the items listed.)

  • Write design specifications for FPGA designs.
  • Integrate new FPGA tools and updates into common build server used by the HDL team. Create and update documents on how to use the tools and build development tools and build server. Help other HDL designers with development tools and build server.
  • Assist other HDL designers by providing technical guidance on designs and assisting with debugging of HDL simulators and board testing.
  • Provide technical expertise on new and future concepts on FPGA design architecture, PCB architecture, and other aspects related to developing a complete embedded solution.
  • Provide assistance with integrating FPGA designs with software drivers and user applications.
  • Create schematics for new PCB designs and update schematics for previous PCB designs in Altium
  • Test and debug PCBs in the lab to verify functionality and determine causes of failures.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to support design, development, and testing activities.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
