Full Charge Bookkeeper

Littleton, MA 01460

The Team Member will be primarily responsible for posting cash receipts and disbursements to certain bank accounts as well as paying monthly bills and reconciling bank statements. The Team Member will also assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, profit and loss and cashflow statements. In addition, time permitting, the Team Member will be assist Senior Staff Accountants in fixed asset accounting , the monthly closing process, accounts payable and accounts receivable including intercompany transactions accounting, preparation of project financial statement and other reports and in internal and external audits and various tax return preparations.

Status: Hourly / Part-Time


  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value “ Safety first, in everything we do.
  • Posting cash receipts/disbursements in QuickBooks accounting system
  • Reconcile certain bank accounts
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist Senior Staff Accountants with:
    • Managing fixed assets acquisition and disposal, working closely with the Fleet Department,
    • Maintaining fixed assets database in various systems,
    • Preparing equipment-related reports integral to monthly posting of job costs Reports including:
      • Equipment usage postage reports of equipment hours including reviewing and posting to Heavy Job \u0026 Viewpoint and
      • Various other ad hoc reports and Excel analysis
    • Processing miscellaneous accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions including intercompany transactions,
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for related entities and prepare cash flow reports as needed
    • Performing bank-related functions such as daily cash deposit, daily cash reporting and cash receipt/disbursement analysis
    • Preparation of monthly Job Cost reports for all construction projects,
    • Participating in year-end external financial audit and income tax return preparation as well as on-going internal job estimate to complete and process control audits,
    • Preparation of and/or assist in preparation of certain state sales and use tax returns including processing of ACH payments and
  • Preparation of property tax returns for various states and other ad hoc reports as needed
  • Become proficient with general ledger/financial reporting software “ QuickBooks and Vista by Viewpoint
  • Communicate with various levels of management to gather, analyze, and summarize financial information


  • One year of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper
  • Associates degree in Business Administration or related major with concentration in Bookkeeping/Accounting
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred Requirements

  • Three years of experience as a Full charge Bookkeeper
  • Bachelor€™s degree in Business Administration or related major with concentration in Bookkeeping/Accounting
  • Previous experience in construction
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Vista by Viewpoint software preferred but not necessary
