Job Description

The general foreman electrician is responsible for organizing, directing, supervising, and coordinating construction activities at multiple job sites. Managing and supervising the planning, layout, installation, and testing of electrical highway signage, lighting, traffic signals, and other services in accordance with applicable plans, specifications codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
Work procedures, scheduling, cost control
Project specification conformity
Establishment of manpower levels
Monitoring and implementation of safety programs
Project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records with help of Superintendent
Develop a project plan for sequence of construction, equipment, materials, manpower and site layout
Develop a daily plan for the next days activities, communicate daily plan to the crew in the daily job briefing
Coordinate two to three week look ahead schedule with Superintendent; coordinate need for additional manpower or equipment on the site
Coordinate/confirm all necessary items are on the site or scheduled for delivery
Help Plan and control labor costs to complete project within budgeted amount
Responsible for the satisfactory conduct of all construction operations and task accomplishment in an economical, efficient and timely manner on a project
Monitor craft performance relative to budget, schedules and deadlines
Help Requisitions, tools, materials and equipment in accordance with established procedures and necessary lead times
Prepare and review plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to determine work phases and work priorities with the help of Superintendent
Determine and recommend solutions to construction and architectural discrepancies with Superintendent
Monitor manpower utilization, effectiveness and productivity
Coordinate movement and use of equipment and supplies with procurement.
Inspect fieldwork to evaluate construction progress, efficiency of operation and cost control.
Responsible for overall project workmanship and goal attainment (Superintendent)
Attend owners meetings
Schedule and monitor subcontractors
Understand PUCR reports
Ensure that a comprehensive inventory list is maintained and updated of all assigned resources and be responsible for their condition and security
And other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
At least 10 years of prior experience for a recognized Heavy/Highway contractor
At least 7 years of prior experience supervising construction crews of all trades including electricians, carpenters, operators, drivers, laborers, etc.
Must have ITS experience
Master Electrical license preferred but not required
Must be able to meet deadlines while having the ability to maintain an extremely safe work environment
Must have strong verbal and some written communication skills
Familiar with DOT standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced mastery of his/her craft.
Must have a very good working knowledge of all crafts.
Must have excellent math computation skills
