WSP USA's is seeking an experienced Traffic / ITS Engineer and Project Manager in our Atlanta, Georgia location to Lead and Manage our robust Traffic Engineering Practice in Atlanta and throughout the state of Georgia. The Georgia Traffic Lead will spearhead the continued growth and direction of our Traffic Engineering practice throughout Georgia including Traffic Engineering planning and design, signal design, ITS, traffic analysis, and traffic studies. This role will also interact with other leaders to support projects and programs throughout the Southeast Region as opportunities arise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Georgia Traffic / ITS team including business development, business management, client management, and project delivery
  • Serve as project manager for traffic engineering and ITS projects
  • Lead, mentor and manage staff
  • In concert with the Area Manager and Regional Management, determine staffing needs and be very involved in recruiting efforts and hiring decisions
  • Strong focus on collaboration with state and regional leadership in pursuit proposals, client management and business development activities
  • Work on traffic analyses and crash analyses for GDOT and municipal projects
  • Complete traffic studies for private clientele and municipal clients
  • Work on signal design and operational improvements projects, signal optimization projects, and ITS projects for GDOT
  • May also support design-build pursuits and delivery as needed
  • Work on signing, pavement marking, and Maintenance of Traffic design

  • Maintenance of Traffic Design

Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 12+ years of traffic engineering experience
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Strong experience with business development and pursuit proposals for GDOT and other transportation projects in the state of Georgia
  • Proven success in managing client relationships as well as leading and managing significant traffic / transportation projects in Georgia
  • Proven experience effectively leading and managing staff
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering, planning, and design software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CAD or Microstation)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Power Point required
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree
  • PTOE
  • Registered PE in GA
