Parsons is seeking a Grants Writer to support the Clinical Investigations Department (CID) at the Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL). NMCCL, CID is engaged in the advancement of scholar activity that is operationally relevant to both the Command and the community. CID currently supports several research efforts to include traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, alternative treatment therapies, prevention and treatment of mental health disorders and military training and readiness.

All efforts support the advancement of knowledge and to better support the warfighter and their families. The newly established Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is tasked with the responsibility to safeguard and promote the health and welfare of human subjects.

Duties:

  • Provide full life cycle editing and writing support for grant submissions, including managing timelines, collecting data, and information from a variety of sources, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders involved in the submission process.
  • Identify and research prospective grant opportunities that align with NMCCL, CIDs mission and vision, support investigators, and other research staff.
  • Remain current in interpreting proposal requirements of high priority funding sources.
  • Review approved institutional funding priorities, identify prospective funders and make recommendations for moving initiatives forward.
  • Ability to research, write, and submit funding proposals in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to government, foundation and other funding entities.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the annual calendar of grant submissions, reports, and related activities to ensure all pending deadlines are met.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision, exhibit independent judgment, implement systems and follow-up processes.
  • Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data; specifically clinical research pertaining to the NMCCL, CID mission
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office and database management skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Education / Experience:

  • Masters degree or higher in Medicine, Medical Research, Biological Science, Behavioral Health, Health Science or Business Administration is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct coordination/management and/or submission of research grants or research proposal writing

***There is possibility that this could rescope to being part-time on a 30 hours per week basis.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain, or currently possess Secret clearance.
