Heavy Construction Laborer 1
Casella Construction is looking to add new members to our Heavy Construction Laborer team for the 2023 spring- summer construction season. The Construction Laborer performs a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the construction site. Casella Construction provides unique construction projects that allow for hands-on learning and the opportunity to be a part of a team that oversees a project from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- Unloads materials and distributes them to appropriate locations as identified by superintendent or foreman.
- Prepares tools and materials for the construction site as directed by superintendent or foreman.
- Digs trenches, cleans up rubble and debris.
- Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.
- Motions equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery (spotter).
- Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones (flagging).
- Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensures trash is properly disposed of and materials and equipment are properly stored.
- Assists team with proper equipment care.
- Completes daily paperwork.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Experience in a construction laborer role preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to perform basic math as needed to count, measure, take inventory, and other similar tasks.
- Must be able to work some weekends and nights, when necessary.
- Must be able to travel out of town for a day or a week.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
- Ability to participate in regulatory trainings (First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Flagging, Spotter).

Physical Requirements:
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb inclines for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
