A Welder will fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools. A Welder will produce metal products according to employer specifications. They will use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes. The Welder will read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects.

The Welder will set up, operate and maintain welding equipment. They understand and implement personal and company safety measures by wearing specialized goggles, helmets and gloves. Communication skills are essential to work with team members and converse with customers and clients.


  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Read ISO Metric Drawings
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material withpowered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in variouspositions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety


• Proven experience as certified structural welder
• Experienceusingavarietyofweldingequipmentandprocedures(TIG,MMAetc.) • Experienceinusingelectricalormanualtools(saws,squares,calipersetc.)
• Abilitytoreadandinterprettechnicaldocumentsanddrawings


  • Knowledgeofrelativesafetystandardsandwillingnesstouseprotectiveclothing(face- shield, gloves etc.)
  • Deftnessandattentiontodetail
  • ProficientinEnglish
  • Successfulcompletionofarelevantapprenticeshipprogramisrequired
  • ProfessionalCertification(e.g.anAWSweldingcertificate)willbeaplus


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.


  • Welders, cutters, solderers, and brazers wear protective clothing and goggles for safety.
  • Welders and cutters may work outdoors, often in inclement weather, or indoors,sometimes in a confined area designed to contain sparks and glare.
  • When working outdoors, they may work on a scaffold or platform high off the ground.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
