WSP is currently initiating a search for a Historian/Architectural Historian for our Washington DC office.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduate degree in historic preservation or related field plus more than three years of professional experience
  • The candidate is required to have professional research/writing experience in African-American history, culture and building traditions of the Mid-Atlantic states, from Virginia to Pennsylvania.
  • Prior experience working in tandem with federal and state agencies; working familiarity with Section 106 a plus
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Must have previously prepared National Register nominations
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently
  • Ability to travel throughout United States
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
