Join a dynamic and creative Human Resources team as a Generalist by providing support and expertise to the HR team, PC’s field managers and craftworkers, the Craft Manager, and the corporate office. You will exercise good judgment on carrying out company and field operation goals, standards, policies, and procedures, in addition to assessing and anticipating HR-related needs such as skilled labor, and management to develop integrated and effective solutions. The right candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and two years of human resources experience or a combination of experience; supporting field or regional workforce, sound judgement, discretion, confidentiality, and high integrity with a strong team orientation and collaborative skillset, knowledgeable in federal and state regulations. SHRM or PHR certification, and Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred. This position can be based full time in office, or on a hybrid basis, which includes three days in office.

Responsibilities:

At the direction of the Human Resources Director and Recruiting and Training Manager:

  • Partner with Superintendents and Field Office Managers to drive key Human Resources and corporate programs and initiatives at the craftworker level.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding process for field and craftworker positions. Work closely with the Recruiting and Training Manager, hiring managers and the Craft Manager to identify staffing needs. Source candidates, coordinate and participate in interviews and manage relationships through the offer process and onboarding.
  • Lead initiatives for field employees such as performance reviews and merit increases, working closely with Craft Manager, HR Director, and management.
  • Assist with training and development efforts and annual compliance training, including the learning management system, providing support to the Recruiting and Training Manager.
  • Attend job fairs and workforce development events to expand outreach and visibility to candidates.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing job poster distribution to jobsites and coordinating annual scholarship programs.
  • Provide company and HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Work to resolve employee relations issues and elevates complex issues to HR Director. Assist with conducing effective, thorough, and objective investigations, translating when needed.  Ensure concise, clear, transparency, feedback and follow up are provided.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with the Safety Department to ensure appropriate precautions are communicated and followed to reduce liability and risk.
  • Implement and promote PC tools and approach to foster a continuous feedback and performance management culture at the field level, ensuring transparent communication between managers and employees regarding performance and development.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues in Benefits, Employment, Training, etc. to ensure business needs are met from a comprehensive people perspective.
  • Conduct exit interviews with field employees when possible; analyze data and metrics and implement initiatives to improve the craftworker employment experience.
  • Serve as secondary backup, when necessary, to the employment team for HR records administration and answering basic employee and manager questions.
  • Assist and support the HR Director and other team members on projects as necessary.
