WSP is currently initiating a search for a HSE Manager: Power to be located in our Houston, TX office , primarily supporting Power projects. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain compliance with various compliance consortia, such as, ISN, NCMS, Avetta, etc., based on client requirements
  • Works with project and Power management on HSE prequalification of subcontractors and Project HSE Plan review with respect to integraion and compliance with HSE requirements
  • Work independently to orient project team members (employees and subcontractors) in HSE and safety requirements and procedures, conduct HSE inspections and compliance audits, life safety system audits, and review and prepare various safety programs.
  • Coordinate with and serve as a HSE resource to WSP business development and project managers.
  • Assists with the implementation of WSP's HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and prepares regular HSE statistical reports for management.
  • Leads incident investigations, evaluates findings, makes recommendations and prepares written and verbal reports.
  • Obtains and maintains project HSE documentation (JSAs, work permits, SDS books, operator licenses, equipment inspections, etc.) with project files, as required.
  • Ensures safe/unsafe observations, near misses, and incidents (injury and non-injury, property/equipment damage and environmental impact) and work hours are accurately reported as required by WSP and client; and leads/coordinates incident investigations as required.
  • Executes other HSE duties as assigned by HSE Vice President.
  • Position may involve up to 25% travel.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12 + years HSE experience
  • Bachelor's degree in safety sciences or equivalent HSE experience
  • Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word, Adobe DC, and Risk Tracking
  • Working knowledge of Behavioral based safety and its application in office and project settings
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) considered a plus
