TITLE: Information Assurance Engineer/ Systems Administrator

DIVISION: GPS LADO

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Shift & Travel

  • M-F, Days
  • Occasional travel possible

  • Anticipated compensation (median) for this position: $125,000 annually

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Information Assurance Engineer will coordinate, develop, and evaluate security programs. Support customer's needs/requirements along with designing and implementing solutions as required. Additional duties will be include supporting system installs, modifications, and system hardware and software maintenance to ensure customer mission objectives can be successful.

Responsibilities - Essential Functions

Information Assurance 50%

  • Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures
  • Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers' requirements
  • Performs IAM activities as described in DoD 8570.01-M, Table C4.T3, C4.T5, and C4.T7.
  • Be familiar with reading, interpreting and implementing RMF controls, STIGs and other related topics.
  • Analyzes and defines security requirements
  • Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions to requirements
  • Performs risk analyses including risk assessment. Develops, analyzes, and implements security architecture(s) as appropriate
  • Understand Cybersecurity concepts and be able to use tools to help aid in team and customer tasking.

System Administrator 50%

  • Assist in ground control system restore, fault isolation, and system maintenance actions as required
  • Install, upgrade and replace ground system computer equipment
  • Install, modify and update ground system computer OS and supporting software
  • Complete all initial and annual training requirements and disclosures as outlined by BSTG.
  • Perform all other duties as required, consistent with the goals, objectives and responsibilities of the department

Required Education and Experience

  • Associates and 5+ years, or
  • Bachelor's and 3+ years
  • ISC2 CISSP
  • VMware vSphere certification
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • CE & Network+ certification
  • Microsoft Certified System Admin & Engineer (MCSA & MCSE)

Required Skills/Abilities - Competencies

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level I certification
  • Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Viewer 2.10 or higher

The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $125,000.00.
