Harris Rebar in Stoney Creek is currently looking to add an IT Support Technician to our team!

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for a large and complex computerised environment
  • Differentiate and solve workstation, basic network and server problem
  • Plan and implement problem preventive mechanisms. Define criteria for problem types, severity, and escalation
  • Handle problem recognition, research and isolation by contacting end users to collect information about problems and lead user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error
  • Day to day operational tasks related to operation of the LAN/WAN, User support, pro-active management of the system to optimize performance and system availability
  • Implement system management and operational policies as defined by IT Management
  • Manage and monitor remote backup systems (BackupExec)


Requirements

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer Science or related technical experience with diploma/degree
  • Experience with workstations operating in a Microsoft AD/Exchange environment.
  • Ability to problem solve and prioritize in an enterprise company environment.
  • Superior customer relation skills, good communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proven ability to provide sound and thorough follow up, professional responsibility to see a problem through to resolution.
  • Responsible to log any IT issues received via walk in, phone, or e-mail.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and in the United States a must
  • Ability to work Overtime as required, including weekends

Must Haves:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in customer support in person, via telephone and email
  • Help desk experience in person, via telephone and email
  • Experience with computer workstations operating in a Microsoft AD/Exchange environment.
  • Extensive experience with Windows 7/Windows 10 & and Office 2013/2016 mandatory
  • Superior customer relation skills, excellent communication skills, team player mandatory
  • Superior attention to detail skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service
  • Experience with computer hardware, software and network troubleshooting
  • Experience with Backup Exec tools
  • Experience with Powershell and scripting languages
  • Experience with automated deployment/imaging tools and processes
  • Experience with managing IOS devices
  • Ability and willingness to learn
  • Experience with MS Windows Server 2012 and above
  • Experience with KACE tools
  • Experience with Bomgar tools
  • Experience with AutoCAD tool
  • Experience with CITRIX XenApp
