Job Duties
Position will assist Area Land Use Engineers with the approval of subdivision and site plans for land development projects in the Lynchburg District. Position will provide technical review of land development plans consistent with VDOT specifications, standards, policies and procedures, as well as administer the districtâs land development activities with stakeholders to include local government, engineering communities, developers and VDOT staff.

In addition to a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, a $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. Current VDOT employees are not eligible for the sign-on bonus.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience in land development plan review. Knowledge of geometric design and other engineering principles. Knowledge of land use permit policies, construction practices, materials requirements and street acceptance procedures. Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction plans, local ordinances and zoning requirements. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences, as well as interact successfully with internal and external customers. Skill in the use of computers and software applications. Valid driverâs license.
Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering or related field. PE license or EIT certification. Experience in the application of engineering principles to highway construction projects. Prefer Erosion \u0026 Sediment Plan Reviewer or Combined Plan Administrator certification.
