WSP USA is seeking a Lead Civil Highway Engineer / Project Manager with experience in the design of highway projects to join our robust Atlanta Civil Group! As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects in Georgia and throughout the Southeast Region, working closely with the planning, environmental, and other civil engineering and roadway design groups.
The successful candidate should have initiative and a strong desire for learning and sharing knowledge and will function as the Senior Engineer and/or Deputy Project Manager on major transportation projects. 
Responsibilities of the role will include: 
  • Leading a Civil/Highway Design team
  • Leading projects with all aspects of Transportation Design from conceptual and preliminary engineering to final design
  • Coordinating with other design disciplines
  • Preparing plans, specifications, and bid packages
  • Ensuring that production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing the work of Staff-level Engineers.
  • Providing Training to Staff-level Engineers
  • Directing client interaction
  • Support business development initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years’ experience in the design and preparation of construction contract documents for highways.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia
  • Understanding and familiarity with AASHTO and GDOT Design Guidelines and Standards
  • Proficiency in Microstation and InRoads or OpenRoads design software
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Affiliation with professional societies and experience with Alternative Delivery projects experience is highly desirable.
