WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Mobility Planner for our San Francisco, California office. In this role, the candidate will be tasked with program and project management responsibilities for an established Bay Area agency carpool program, as well as leading and managing multidisciplinary transit and mobility planning projects across Northern California.
 
The Bay Area Carpool Program Project Manager is responsible for WSP’s project management, contract administration, strategic planning, operations, delivery, client relations, staffing oversight, training and management for the Bay Area Carpool Program. The Bay Area Carpool Program is mission-based, focused on reducing congestion and emissions in the nine-county region. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the mission of the program, and motivated by finding innovative ways to incentivize and promote carpooling. WSP operates the Bay Area Carpool Program under contract with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC).
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
*Planning, organizing and executing full range of planning activities  
*Develops and presents alternative solutions to clients  
*Oversees and conducts development and technical work for transit and mobility planning projects 
*Prepares and presents technical information to internal and external working groups  
*Contributes and leads client meetings  
*Ability to identify new and continual opportunities to carry out innovation and meet project deliverables, coordinate with regional stakeholders and bring added value to agency programs and contracts
*Contribute and interact well with others as well as review project deliverables 
*Deliver projects within contractually agreed upon scope, schedule and budget
*Assit with leading a talented, multi-disciplinary team including sub consultants
*Mentorship opportunities and helping to develop other staff members
*Collobrate to develop new and forward thinking strategies to encourage carpooling and single-occupancy vehicle commute trips
*Business Development including client relations, developing relationships with transportation agencies, leading pursuits, and industry involvement to further WSP's planning and mobility practices.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

*Eight (8) years of work experience including one (1) year of project management experience
*Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field from an accredited program
*Experience in public outreach, public education, and/or marketing, including use of social media
*Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
*Ability to create and make formal presentations to key executives, stakeholder groups and government officials
*Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
*Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
*Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:

*Master's degree in Planning or related field from an accredited program
*Program management, including oversight of contracts and subconsultants
*Understanding of the regional transportation network in the Bay Area
*Experience with and knowledge of the local, state, and federal transportation funding landscape
*Experience in Transportation Demand Management (TDM), transit planning, emerging mobility concepts, and non-auto transportation planning
*Experience working with MTC, SFMTA, BART, SFCTA, AC Transit and other local transportation agencies
*Working in behavior change programs and government-funded services
*Familiarity with government contracting and disadvantaged business programs
*Experience with brand identity, including marketing, communications, and advertising
*Ability to think out of the box and foster innovation
