Job Description:

We are looking for an Area Construction Engineering Leader to join our team and provide construction management oversight for infrastructure projects, in the DC/Virginia/Maryland areas. In this role, your first project will be to oversee the 16th Street Northwest Bus Lanes Construction Management project in Washington, DC. You will be expected to manage and guide all on-site field construction activities associated with the completion of this major project. In addition to construction supervision, you will be responsible for field administration, procurement, and field engineering.

in this role, you will independently perform all aspects of field engineering assignments including development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems for this project and future projects. You will be responsible for overseeing our construction inspectors in the field as well as will review the performance of subcontractors to assure contract compliance. Willingness to work at the local construction site locations is required.


Maintains first level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Supervises the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.
Supervises Construction Inspectors, ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
Reviews and interprets discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field, or equivalent construction related work experience, as well as 10+ years of experience in field construction is required

Experience in the construction of large civil/structural transportation projects is required.

Experience with concrete/paving/asphalt construction and utility movement is preferred.

Experience working with DOT agencies is required. Prefer experience working with DDOT, VDOT or MDOT.

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices

Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
