WSP USA is currently seeking a Lead Traffic Engineer in our Miami, Florida office to join our thriving Regional Traffic Engineering practice! The successful candidate will have experience in traffic engineering projects. Specifically:
  • Serve as a task lead for traffic engineering projects with the expectation that the candidate will serve as a task manager in six (6) months.
  • Experience in operations of traffic signals and traffic signal optimization.
  • Traffic analyses and crash analyses for DOT and municipal projects.
  • Traffic studies for private clients/developers as well as traffic impact study reviews for municipal clients. 
  • Traffic analysis software, such as HCS, Synchro, Vissim and CORSIM.
  • Ability to work well with other related disciplines and coordinate activities for timely completion and within resource budgets.
  • Willing to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, FDOT Project Traffic Forecasting Handbook, FDOT Traffic Analysis Handbook, FDOT Quality/Level of Service Handbook.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A BS in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in traffic engineering projects
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current P.E. registration or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Masters in Civil Engineering is preferred
  • Current experience with FDOT projects
