We are seeking a Lead Transit Planner to make a significant contribution to WSP USA’s strategic plan to increase our project management and business development capability. The Transit Planner will contribute as a member of multi-disciplinary team to transit fixed guide way planning and design efforts in the Charlotte, North Carolina office. Responsibilities will involve conducting a wide range of planning efforts including Alternatives Analyses, station area planning, short-range service plans, long-range vision plans, NEPA documents (EA’s and EIS’s), and feasibility studies for commuter rail, streetcar, light rail, and bus operations.
 
Responsibilities
  • Contributes as a member of multi-disciplinary teams to transit fixed guide way planning and design efforts
  • Conducts or assists with a range of transportation planning studies, including needs assessments, transit modal analyses, traffic studies, NEPA documents, and long-range planning
  • Develops mapping and graphical material
  • Conducts station area planning and design
  • Conducts multimodal planning efforts
  • Prepares and gives briefings and makes presentations to clients, the general public, and other stakeholders
  • Prepares and reviews written technical reports
  • Assigns tasks to and coordinates with junior and entry-level staff and other sub consultants
  • Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements and in monitoring project progress

Requirements
