What will you be doing?

The Lean Innovation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Operating group and project teams with defining, executing, and managing change. Partner with group and project team leaders to grow a lean innovation culture within their area by identifying and executing continuous improvements efforts through the application of lean innovation methods and visual performance management.

*Facilitate application of Mortenson's core Lean Innovation methods to improve self-performed craft work, including supporting Superintendents, Foremen and Craft Workers in the introduction, training and follow-up on use of these methods
*Recognize, document and communicate OG-developed Lean Innovation methods and best practices
*Lead through influence and personal relationships to generate and maintain momentum on improvement initiatives through sustainable implementation of the desired future state
*Assist project teams with data collection and analysis to identify improvement opportunities
*Coach team members on continuous improvement systems, tools, techniques, mindsets and behaviors
*Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
*Facilitate and encourage the Operating Group's contribution to Mortenson's Best Practices Database, the Lean Innovation Playbook, and the Mortenson Innovation Board through the development and sharing of work practices, methods and success stories

What skills and experience do you need?

*Bachelor's degree
*Minimum of 2 years' experience as an internal or external continuous improvement resource
*Experience developing an improvement agenda, and define, plan and execute specific improvement initiatives
*Experience developing and implementing performance metrics and targets
*Experience, coursework or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management (e.g. PMP), or Organizational Change Management preferred

This position requires the following with or without accommodation; sitting, walking, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, hearing, visual acuity, and utilization of a computer and office equipment. This person must be physically capable of reviewing a jobsite multiple times daily. The working environments consist of exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and outdoor weather; as well as indoor and climate-controlled settings.
