The Big Picture: What will you be doing?

Mortenson is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to manage all Corporate FP&A-related work efforts for a growing and diversifying construction business, including but not limited to: internal financial reporting, annual and long-range budgeting and forecasting, capital planning, new business analysis, metric development & benchmarking, ad-hoc financial analysis, and supporting implementation of data warehouse and PowerBI reporting capabilities across Finance & Accounting. This individual will partner directly with the business and across Finance & Accounting to provide financial insights and decision support, while developing a team of analysts into future Mortenson leaders.

  • Takes great pride in the quality and visual representation of their work product.
  • Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including an innate ability to tailor presentation styles to different end audiences.
  • Has a strong, self-motivated work ethic, willing to roll their sleeves up to show ­and tell, as needed.
  • Is a strategic thinker someone who will continue to evolve the FP&A function (people, technology & process) and is motivated by challenging, thought-provoking work.
  • Possesses deep analytical skills and expertise, including an ability to leverage technology and creativity to identify and present key insights.
  • Demonstrates an ability to create & deliver meaningful and actionable financial analysis.
  • Champions process improvement, consistently identifying opportunities to streamline and innovate.

What do you need?

  • A minimum of eight years progressive experience in Finance & Accounting roles, including 3+ years directly managing team members.
  • A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field(s) from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with preference toward candidates with experience in PowerBI or other data visualization and business intelligence tools.
