WSP is currently initiating a search for a Marine Senior Supervising Engineer for our New York, New York  office. Previous waterfront structure and marine infrastructure project experience should include the design and delivery of port and marine projects with an emphasis on marine structure design, vessel and cargo specific infrastructure, terminal and industrial facilities, port security, marine environments vessel mooring and berthing studies, cargo, ferry and cruise operations, simulations and environmental permitting. Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters. This position will support our interdisciplinary teams: coastal, water resources, and environmental.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with regional clients and teaming partners.
  • Oversee proposal development for project pursuits
  • Manage scope, schedule and budget for marine engineering and multidisciplinary engineering projects at port facilities. 
  • Complete independent assignments, which call for an application of specialized professional expertise
  • Ensures that production of specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Perform structural engineering of marine structures, dredged material design and planning, regulatory permitting and construction administration
  • Manage the planning, schedule, coordination, utilization and oversight of work of younger engineers
  • Prepare basic drawings and perform calculations in support of broader engineer activities
  • Prepare technical studies and reports
  • Preparation of accurate schedules and cost estimates for marine projects
  • Oversight of inspection and design which requires work both in field and office settings
  • Perform other managerial duties as assigned

<div><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></div> <ul> <li>Minimum of 15 years overall engineering experience with minimum of 10 years of experience in the delivery and management of maritime and / or waterfront resiliency projects is required</li> <li>A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a focus in structural engineering</li> <li>A Master’s Degree will be strongly considered but not required</li> <li>Candidate shall possess a Professional Engineers license in New York or be able to obtain within 6 months</li> <li>Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) card which requires a TSA background check</li> <li>Candidate must be able to immediately work in the United States on a full-time permanent basis.  Visa sponsorship not offered for this position</li> </ul> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></div> <ul> <li>A working knowledge of engineering design and practices</li> <li>Competency in state-of-the-art computer programs (AutoCAD or MicroStation, ADINA, Staad.Pro or SAP2000).  Familiarity with StructurePoint and Optimoor software preferred but not required.</li> <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Self-motivated, flexible and capable if working in a fast-paced work environment</li> <li>Strong time management and organizational skills</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA </strong></div> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms. Dedicated to serving local communities, we are engineers, planners, technical experts, strategic advisors and construction management professionals. WSP USA designs lasting solutions in the transportation, buildings, energy, water and environment sectors.
