WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mechanical and Plumbing Design Reviewer / Project Manager for our Orange County Public Schools program office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the administration and management of multiple projects occurring concurrently starting from early project planning phase through the completion and warranty phases with special emphasis on the Mechanical and Plumbing System disciplines. 
  • Conduct design reviews of Phase I, Phase II and Contract Documents (Drawings and Specifications) with special emphasis on the mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Develop, maintain and update in-house Design Guidelines (DG) related to the above mentioned systems.
  • Conduct reviews of design submittals for accuracy, completeness and compliance with DG related to the above mentioned systems.
  • Support project managers to oversee the above mentioned Systems and related deliverables.
  • Planning, tracking, evaluating and reporting for multiple projects with special emphasis on the above mentioned Systems.
  • Perform site assessments of existing buildings specific to mechanical and plumbing systems and generate project scope recommendations.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations during construction to ensure design intent and compliance with design guidelines are met.
  • Reports to Design Manager

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 7-10 years of successful experience with progressively increasing responsibility for overall plans.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge and expertise of Retro Commissioning and Commissioning of HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes.
  • Skilled in oral and written communications.
  • Knowledge of DOE regulations and experience in the implementation of Florida Statutes and State Requirements for Educational Facilities with regards to the design and construction of school facilities. Emphasis on the Mechanical and Plumbing disciplines.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to registered engineers.
