kW Mission Critical Engineering is currently initiating a search for a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Atlanta, Georgia office.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The candidate will work under direct supervision of senior engineers and will perform a variety of assignments and tasks requiring the application of standard engineering/design techniques and criteria to support a variety of projects 
  • Performs entry level work 
  • Follows instructions to accomplish assignments and tasks 
  • Meets required schedules while producing quality work 
  • Develops mechanical drawings and technical documents  
  • Prepares/contributes to mechanical engineering studies 
  • Coordinates design efforts with multi-discipline teams 
  • Supports senior staff on multiple tasks 
  • Supports construction administration and site survey tasks with oversight from experienced staff 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis 
  • Relevant intern experience  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Ability to travel to project sites  
  • AutoCAD, BIM-Revit or other related graphic software experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat, and BlueBeam 
  • Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings. 
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
