WSP is currently initiating a search for a Middleware Administrator for our Sacramento, CA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Middleware Administrator: Maintains and operates the server environments and supporting software for business-critical applications.
Primary tasks include:
  • Server operations
  • Configuration manaement
  • Code deployment
  • Capacity planning
  • Backup/Recovery
  • Patching/Upgrading
  • Change management
  • Monitoring/Performance Tuning
Systems Maintenance and Operartions responsibilities include:
  • Perform health checks on systems and monitor systems for proper operations.
  • Perform systems upgrades, manage and remediate security vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Monitor systems for optimal and appropriate usage of hosting infrastructure resources, including security, performance, and cost.
  • Follow established technology practices, processes, and procedures for incident management.
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance, including the development and maintenance of appropriate scripts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Support information sharing and continuous improvement by mentoring or providing knowledge transfer to other IT staff.
Systems Analysis responsibilities include:
  • Analyze business/functional and technical requirements to define system specifications.
  • Ensure system specifications incorporate industry and/or vendor best practices and standards.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve and report on infrastructure and system anomalies.
  • Perform research, evaluate products, and make recommendation for adoption.
Systems Build and Systems Test responsibilities include
  • Perform installation and configuration of systems/applications in various compute environments including development, test, staging and production.
  • Follow established technology processes and procedures for configuration management, change management, and release management.
  • Provide recommendations for automation of appropriate phases of the build and test phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Perform design activities associated with solution architecture and infrastructure for business and technical problems.
  • Perform system modeling and prototyping to provide effective design solutions.


<div>Talent is the essence of meeting our client’s objectives, goals and challenges.  If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to have that first discussion of you joining our team.</div> <div> </div> <div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <div> </div> <div class="O0"> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Computer Science or equivalent curriculum.</li> <li>5+ years of relevant working experience in execution and deployment of large IT projects and associated software systems.</li> <li>Experience with cloud and on premise web application hosting solutions.</li> <li>Experience with networking and related technologies/protocols/services/concepts, e.g., clustering, load-balancing, routing, failover, high availability, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, PKI, SSO, SSL.</li> <li>Experience with operating systems, e.g., AIX, UNIX, Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows.</li> <li>Experience with J2EE application servers, e.g., IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle/BEA WebLogic, JBoss, and Tomcat.</li> <li>Experience with Messaging/EAI middleware technologies, e.g., IBM WebSphere MB/MQ and JMS infrastructure.</li> <li>Experience with Portal servers, e.g., IBM WebSphere Portal Server.</li> <li>Experience with WWW servers, e.g., Apache, Microsoft IIS, and IBM HTTP Server.</li> <li>Ability to script in Bash, Python, and PowerShell.</li> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with staff at all levels.</li> <li>Ability to be detail oriented.</li> <li>Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.</li> <li>Ability to perform root cause analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with client staff, project consultants, private contractors, and employees.</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications :</div> <div> </div> <div class="O0"> <ul> <li>Experience providing support for IBM Maximo, including maintenance and support of the application, use of IBM Migration Manager, and the Maximo Integration Framework.</li> <li>High-level problem determination and resolution skills.</li> <li>Experience in planning, training, and initiating transition efforts for the next generation of emerging technology tools that support enterprise development efforts with respect to database development, maintenance, and operations.</li> <li>Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio and Project.</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
