*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for a *_Multifamily-_**_Controller._* The right candidate will manage all aspects of the divisions historical reporting. Lead senior management in compliance with company policies. Assist all departments with current and accurate information presentation.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Monitor and enforce the operating procedures and policies established by DHI Communities with the authority to interact with all departments and to determine if current department policies are efficient and promote the greater well-being of DHI Communities
* Prepare and report financial results in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) together with financial and accounting policies established by DR Horton, Inc. All reporting will be due at the times and in the format required by Corporate
* Fully understand all aspects of the computerized accounting system and construction system deployed in the division and ensure utilization of the systems to their full capabilities
* Controller is responsible for the budgeting process and must ensure that all budgets input to the computerized accounting and construction systems reflect contractual or estimated contractual liabilities at all times
* Holds the primary responsibility for the successful implementation and management of divisional information system applications
* With support from the divisions Corporate Accounting Manager, closely monitor property net operating income and SG&A vs. budget and help with actions to improve performance when necessary
* Oversee monitoring of all financial reporting from third party property management companies, as well as ensure that financial reports are prepared within established timelines
* Expected to perform in both the financial and operational segments of the business. The Division Controller will devote a minimum of 20% of his or her time in the operational arena, with at least half of this time devoted to field visits
* Assist in the preparation of business plan and continually re-evaluate business plan to optimize profit and returns
* Monitor development and S&B budgets to make sure there is adequate backup to support these amounts and to investigate subsequent changes
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
* Ability to travel overnight
* Regular and reliable attendance
*Supervisory Responsibilities*

Directly manages two or more employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

*Education and/or Experience*
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
* Six to eight years of related experience and/or training
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email

*Preferred Qualifications*
* Prior experience in the home building industry preferred
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
