As a National Purchasing Optimization Analyst working for Taylor Morrison you will be the liaison between the Production & Field business users and Corporate Purchasing with a background or strong understanding of the purchasing/operations side of the homebuilding industry. This position reports to the National Director of Strategic Sourcing. By far the majority of the Corporate Purchasing Business Analyst’s activities are related to Production business systems support, reporting and process improvement projects. This position works closely with the business end users to provide support they need to meet their business objectives for improvements and efficiency gains. The National Purchasing Optimization Analyst must have Newstar knowledge and experience of other Homebuilding Production systems and processes.

This opportunity is located in Scottsdale, AZ in the corporate office and will be office-centric hybrid. There will be flexibility to work from home a couple of days per week following training and depending on needs of the business.

Job Details

We trust that as a National Purchasing Optimization Analyst you will: (responsibilities)

  • Support and train Production back office and field end users on Newstar and related systems
  • Create and maintain training documentation for Newstar
  • Take a lead role in the data conversion related to any acquisition
  • Ensure data standards are enforced across all divisions
  • Troubleshoot system and process issues to resolution
  • Perform change management activities as necessary with system changes
  • Actively participate in numerous cross-functional teams and projects to standardize processes and implement best practices

About you:

  • 2-3 years Newstar system experience
  • 1 year managing and training employees on Newstar
  • Strong knowledge and use of Excel, Analyzers and Pivot Tables
  • Working knowledge of construction and divisional purchasing procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Business or other related field or have a minimum of 2 years purchasing experience with a high-volume builder
  • Knowledge and use of all Microsoft Office products
  • Analytical with the ability to troubleshoot issues to find solutions
  • Tracking project schedule and status
  • Strong communication skills with all levels from end user to management
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to travel 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
