Job Duties

• Act as environmental Representative and liaison between Central Office Environmental, District Environmental and District Construction regarding the implementation and management of the Environmental Commitments and Compliance Assistance Program.
• Organize and implement Environmental Commitments and Compliance.
• Support District Environmental staff in providing expert technical advice to construction and maintenance staff on the variety of environmental commitments identified during the project development phases or environmental review phases.

Minimum Qualifications

• Considerable Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation and environmental rules, regulations and laws.
• Experience working with project proponents to avoid, minimize and mitigate environmental impacts.
• Ability to review, critique and interpret highway construction plans, contracts, special provision and specifications.
• Position requires unrestricted mobility, working in all types of weather, terrain and standing for long periods of time.
• Approved safety shoes required for this position, which is a reimbursable expense.
  
  Valid Driver's License required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Progressively responsible experience managing complex project in transportation or construction.

Degree in environmental engineering, studies or sciences.
