WSP is currently initiating a search for a Pavement Evaluation Engineer for our Pompano Beach, Florida office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise employees communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing employees work.
  • Perform engineering analysis required to determine the best approach to Department pavement needs. Perform engineering analysis required to determine the appropriate pavement materials and mix designs. Perform engineering analysis required to determine if the installed pavement meets the specification requirements. Design pavements to support Department infrastructure. Sign and seal engineering reports, pavement designs and specifications as required. 
  • Evaluate Pavement Evaluation project and the associated process to determine their current performance status. Make recommendations for improvement to optimize delivery or improve results. Notify stakeholders of any changes to the project/process.
  • Manage and coordinate the scope, cost and execution, and the quality of the final deliveries of Pavement Evaluation tasks performed by materials consultants. Review and assess consultant work effort. Review and comment on invoices.
  • Review quality control plans, construction plans, specifications, procedures and any other documents necessary to execute the Department’s mission. Provide recommendations in time to meet customer needs. Take timely action to correct errors in data. Actively facilitate the notification of stakeholders of errors, failures or negative trends.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer registered in Florida OR advanced degree in Pavement or Getotechnical Engineering
  • Knowledge of the concepts, terminology, principals and analytical techniques of pavements
  • Knowledge of engineering design, construction, production, and operations
  • Ability to plan, design , evaluate and investigate engineering works and systems
  • Ability to solve problems by applying engineering tools and techniques
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignment
