REAL Mechanical, headquartered in Carmel, IN, is a mechanical, plumbing, building automation systems and service contractor providing comprehensive design and build solutions for its customers in Indiana and throughout the United States.

The Journeyman Plumber is responsible for the proper and timely installation of plumbing to new and existing construction projects.

Duties:

  • Review blueprints and building codes to determine optimal work procedures
  • Lay out, install, and properly assemble plumbing systems in a construction setting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts, and specification

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in all phases of projects (underground, top out, and set out)
  • Have basic hand tools and know how to use properly and safely. 

Must be able to work with a vast range of materials and know proper installation of products listed below but not limited to:

  • PVC DWV sch 40
  • CPVC sch 40 & 80
  • PEX
  • Uponor
  • Cast Iron
  • Copper sweat, brazing & propress
  • Carriers for WC, EWC, Lav, and urinals
  • Hangers and supports Roof drains
  • Water heaters
  • Set all types of fixtures for finish
  • Ice machines

Requirements

CURRENT VALID DRIVERS LICENSE IS REQUIRED. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND AND DRUG SCREEN.

Requirements:

  • Any combination totaling 5 years work experience in plumbing construction, remodeling, construction project coordination experience.
  • Journeyman card preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts.
  • Knowledge of plumbing and structural systems.
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, and machines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications for buildings.

Physical Requirements:

  • The position may require standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the work day.
  • Lift repetitively 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders.
  • Work from scaffolding and lifts.
  • Other manual labor as required.
