Principal Technical Consultant - Transportation Infrastructure - Northern & Central California

We are actively looking for a highly experienced Principal Technical Consultant to provide subject matter expertise and guidance for multiple Road & Highway infrastructure projects for our Northern and Central California clients, which could include delivery of planning, preliminary and final design, development and construction, Traffic analysis/studies, environmental impact assessments, asset management, construction , conceptual modeling, and Intelligent Transportation Systems. This is a casual hire role.


Responsibilities:

  • In this role, you will provide technical guidance to engineering professionals. Assist in mobilization of company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
  • Provide technical expertise and support on various road / highway, rail/transit, and bridge & tunnel projects as needed in California
  • Ability to integrate competing and/or conflicting elements into the planning and execution processes so that project requirements flow smoothly.
  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution, when needed.
  • May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through the application of Quality Assurance processes.


Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Project Management or Civil Engineering related technical/business field is required
15 years or more of substantial engineering experience on Road/Highway and related infrastructure programs.

Should have at least 5 years experience with CALTRANS projects in the state of California, and knowledgeable of Preliminary Design and Final Design requirements for road/highway projects
The Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.
Professional registration ( PE) is highly preferred
