Job Description


The Procurement Manager is responsible for the centralized procurement of commodities through the development and implementation of commodity strategy plans and the management of supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

Including but not limited to:

  • Leading the development, implementation, and alignment of national sourcing strategies and national supplier network capabilities for key commodities and spend categories to achieve broad business objectives.
  • Setting strategic vision and goals and ensuring execution of all common procurement strategies including supplier management, contract management, common procurement tools, and reporting.
  • Collaborating with senior functional leaders to establish both short and long-term business objectives.
  • Identifying, developing, and managing strategic business relationships to enable implementation of the corporate growth strategy, revenue achievement, and new product development initiatives.
  • Overseeing the procurement function to ensure that the functional leads in Purchasing, Mechanical, IT, and other major purchases area receive quality, timely procurement service and assistance.
  • Leading cross-functional teams of project engineers, material suppliers, purchasing professionals, estimators, subcontractors, consultants, and legal staff to consolidate the supply base.
  • Evaluating supplier capabilities and establishing sources for new technologies and markets as dictated by business requirements.
  • Identifying, selecting, and pre-qualifying the best suppliers in the industry per category. Develop recommended standards/guidelines, working in collaboration with Engineering, affiliate experts, and consultants to improve operational efficiency and enable greater leveraging.
  • Identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies; working collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation.
  • Developing and coordinating new policies and procedures regarding procurement processes.
  • Conducting analysis of program policies and procedures, developing plans, formulating guidelines, implementing new developments and procedures, and providing policy interpretation for finance to purchasing customers within corporate guidelines.
  • Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values.
  • And other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelors or MBA in finance, business, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in procurement, engineering, or supply chain management.
  • Heavy/Civil Construction industry experience preferred.
  • Time management and organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of current market and cost drivers.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
