Caddell is looking to add a well-seasoned industrial sector Project / Mechanical Estimator to the team. This position will be responsible for producing detailed estimates for heavy industrial and power projects as well as providing support to other estimating efforts within the Company. Individuals must be able to collaborate with a staff of estimators to create a competitive advantage over the competition, will report to the Director of Estimating and work closely with the Operations team.


  1. Produce detailed mechanical effort-hour estimates for equipment erection, process ductwork, piping, etc.
  2. Civil and Structural estimating experience is desired
  3. Produce quantitative labor and material take-offs
  4. Produce subcontractor bid packages
  5. Familiarity with a variety of contracting strategies
  6. Participate in the presentation of estimates to management and operations
  7. Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
  8. Other duties as assigned
  9. Must be a team player who can communicate effectively
  10. Must have job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the assignment
  11. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  12. Knowledge of current estimating techniques and solutions.
  13. Attend pre-bid, bid review, project kick-off and project meetings
  14. Previous knowledge of estimating software is a plus
  15. Requires 10% travel


Education/Experience:A Bachelor's degree related to the construction industry plus a minimum of 5 years' experience and expertise in all aspects of power plant, pulp and paper, and petrochemical estimating is preferred. However, industrial construction field experience will be considered in lieu of the educational requirements. Registry/certification in ASPE is highly desired.
