The Project Executive will report directly to the VP of Operations (VPO) and be responsible for providing oversite for several projects simultaneously. This includes managing and providing leadership for Project Management, Superintendents and other support staff throughout the company. The PX assists in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures to achieve established company and client goals and support the corporate mission of Building a Better Experience. A successful PX provides solutions, ideas, and initiatives to help grow the company in a healthy and productive manner.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Works closely with Business Owners, VP of Operations, and Manager of Business Operations to drive an engaging and accountable culture
  • Provide leadership and influence to initiate change for organizational development
  • Provide Operations oversight and direction in the following areas:

           § Client Maintenance

           § Procedural and process issues

           § Financial and reporting processes

           § Subcontractor performance

           § Manpower issues and analysis

           § Constructability and technical issues

           § Legal and liability matters

           § Risk analysis and mitigation

  • Review the performance of all Construction Operations and make recommendations regarding staffing, developmental needs, position evaluations, and compensation.
  • Perform project reviews with project teams to include the following activities:

           § Project schedule, safety, administration, and profitability

           § Material and equipment procurement

           § Quality of work

           § Quality of relationships with Owners, Subcontractors, and A/E firms.

  • Prepare monthly Executive Summaries and hold formal review meetings each month with the VPO
  • Provide current information required by the VPO to maintain the overall Company monthly Overhead Schedule for use by accounting to cost code operations employees, and to maintain the overall Company Manpower schedule outlining the current and projected manpower requirements
  • Analyze available and qualified manpower and make specific project assignments for all salaried and hourly construction employees and make recommendations to the VPO for the hiring of additional manpower
  • Maintain a positive, in-depth relationship with clients, architects, engineers within the industry to help attain repeat business
  • Work with the Human Resources department to conduct Performance Evaluations for staff in a timely manner
  • Ensure the accurate completion and timely submission of the monthly Owner Application for Payment process by each Project Manager
  • Review and approve the following project administration documents (in consultation with the VPO as required):

           § General Conditions and project approach of each project estimate prior to submission to the Owner

           § Project schedule prior to issuance to the Owner and Subcontractors

           § Project Budget as prepared by estimating prior to issuance to accounting

           § Subcontracts and Purchase Orders

           § Contractual notices to Owners and Subcontractors

           § Change Order Requests prior to submission to the Owner

           § AIA Owner Change Orders

           § Subcontractor AIA Change Orders and associated budget revisions

           § Coordinate project mobilization, demobilization and equipment needs with Administrators

           § Work with the accounting department to resolve all project cost issues

  • Review and approve all hourly time sheets.
  • Review all material and equipment purchase tickets for correct coding as prepared by each Project Manager
  • Visit each job site and attend the Subcontractor progress meetings as required in order to have working knowledge of current project status
  • Attend Owner meetings.
  • Assist the PMs and Superintendents with solutions to specific questions/items and requests
  • Manage employees Paid Time Off (PTO) requests
  • Provide required coverage for Project Managers and Superintendents while on PTO
  • Assist with agenda preparation and attend Monthly Operations Management coordination meeting to review the following issues:

           § Current months project reviews

           § Manpower quantitative and qualitative analysis

           § Procedures, processes and systems

           § Liability or legal matters

           § Owner, Architect, Subcontractor relationship issues.

           § Update operations goals and review individual action items

  • Work closely with Manager of Business Ops to develop and implement BHB training initiatives and teach classes as needed
  • Create positive development opportunities, coaching and mentoring staff, and assisting direct reports in the advancement of their careers.
  • Work necessary hours as needed to accomplish positive project results.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Four-year Construction Science/Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry Experience: 10 to 15 years of responsibility for the total execution of various sized commercial construction projects is preferred.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of Commercial Construction estimating, means and methods, accounting, project administration, LEED certifications, and a thorough understanding of industry practices.
  • Experience in the management of Superintendents, Project Managers, and Project Support staff.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Must possess the utmost of personal integrity and have the ability to create and lead an organization culture of collaboration, both internally and externally, in order to maintain the superior reputation of Bald Hill Builders.
  • Procore, Sage, MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a positive attitude and resolve issues in a positive and constructive manner.
