WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Manager (Transit Systems) for our Washington, DC office.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • In a matrixed environment, leads a multi-disciplinary team to respond to public transit agency requests for proposals issued under a newly awarded 5-year General Engineering Consultant (GEC) contract with an anticipated spend of $500M over the duration of the contract.  Each task order RFP will be competed amongst numerous, pre-selected consultants.
  • After developing a winning team and proposal, serves as the Project Manager and / or Task Lead to deliver the engineering deliverables.  Although not definitive, it is anticipated that task orders will range in value from as small as $100,000 to as large as multi-million dollar design tasks.
  • During execution of the work, ensures all client expectations are met and manages the project in accordance with Project Management best practices and WSP procedures and policies.  Conducts meaningful and high-level engagements with clients to ensure project success and develop a trusting and lasting relationship.
  • Engages subconsultants and partner consultants to build relationships and winning teams with the most applicable and competitive skills relevant to upcoming task order RFPs.
  • Interprets technically complex task order RFPs to ensure the proposal team fully understands the requirements and the needs of the client.  As part of a larger team, helps devise a winning strategy staffed with the best professionals from across the company.

Requirements

<div>Minimum Qualifications:</div> <ul> <li>No less than 10 years of experience delivering technical engineering and / or construction projects for public or private sector sector clients.</li> <li>BS Degree in any Engineering Discipline or Architecture.</li> <li>Must be confident and capable of engaging clients, both orally and in writing, to build positive relationships and demonstrate technical acumen.</li> <li>Must foster a positive, inclusive and team-based atmosphere.</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div>Preferred Qualifications</div> <ul> <li>Experience working for and / or with a public transit agency that provides heavy transit rail and fixed route bus service is preferred.</li> <li>Technical experience and general understanding of heavy transit infrastructure to include rail bridges, various transit tunnel types, special trackwork, traction power systems, fixed block signal systems with cab signals, rail and bus facilities and third rail.</li> <li>PE or AIA preferred.  Master's degree preferred.</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div>About WSP USA</div> <div> </div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
