It is the responsibility of the Project Manager to organize, supervise and coordinate the project and the onsite staff (daily communication with superintendents on each operating project is expected) in order to complete the work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. It is also his/her responsibility to serve as the Omega Construction, Inc. representative on the Owner-Architect-Builder team. In the performance of this function, it is the Project Manager’s responsibility to protect and promote Omega’s interests in all matters and to do whatever is reasonably necessary to execute his/her duties and responsibilities.

  • Works with marketing staff to develop prospective clients.
  • Coordinates efforts on design/build/negotiate projects.
  • Performs takeoffs and project estimates to determine costs and budgets.
  • Reviews project construction proposal, specifications, or plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Writes subcontract agreements using Company subcontract agreement forms.
  • Performs buyout of major construction materials and supplies.
  • Communicates with superintendent, field safety coordinator, and safety    director to plan and implement safe work practices and programs on job site.
  • Establishes work and staffing plan for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Converse with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Prepares and maintains project schedule.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project cost status reports for management.
  • Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with those of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Prepares and issues project turnover and close out reports.
  • And any other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

Employees must be able to read blue prints, have an understanding of project cost analysis and effectively use the following computer programs within a reasonable amount of time:

  • Microsoft Project
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Viewpoint
  • Blue Beam
  • Timberline Estimating
  • AutoCad
