Position Summary:

The Project Surveyor is responsible for coordinating and supervising all survey staff on assigned projects, as well as managing survey data for assigned projects and utilizing Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Civil 3D and Open Roads to create 3D models of projects. Work conditions include working on your feet and in all weather conditions for 8-10 hours per day.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily with Superintendents to ensure priorities are established and work is being laid out (staking off sets, information on stakes etc.) in accordance with the Supers/Foremen request.
  • Review Survey Request Forms and assign work to crews.
  • Supervise survey staff on project.
  • Perform QC checks on survey staff.
  • Train survey staff on field equipment and CAD software.
  • Create as-built plans/designs and work orders for field crews (Business Center).
  • Create points, alignments, profiles, drafting plans, grading models using Advanced CAD skills.
  • Calibrate survey equipment.
  • Operate all types of survey equipment including GPS, Total Station, Level, 3D Scanner.
  • Site setup/troubleshoot (Site Calibration, Level Runs, Control Checks, Bridge Control, and Machine Control).
  • Attend Project Meetings as needed.
  • Provide Miscellaneous plans to Project Management.





Qualifications:

  • Associate degree
  • 5 years of construction related experience
  • Valid Driver€™s License
