*D.R. Horton, Inc.*is currently looking for an_*_*Property Management Controller*_*_.The Property Management Controller will oversee the functions of the Property Management Accounting department. This individual will facilitate strategic initiatives to ensure efficient processes and technological efficiency in meeting the financial goals and deadlines of the department. Additionally, the Property Management Controller needs to ensure compliance with internal control requirements and internal and external financial reporting standards within the Property Management department.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
* Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
* Hiring, training, and retaining accounting staff
* Analyze. create and monitor the operating procedures and policies established by DHI Communities with the authority to interact with all departments and to determine if current department policies are efficient and promote the greater well-being of the company
* Prepare and report financial results in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) together with financial and accounting policies established by DR Horton, Inc. All reporting will be due at the times and in the format required by DHI Corporate Accounting
* Coordinate with investor relations and legal teams to resolve all accounting and process issues and supervise all administrative functions to perform net asset calculations
* Administer all ownership financial statements on an annual basis, prepare schedules for all investors and evaluate all details for payments and fees for processing
* Analyze all data and reports and ensure resolution of all ownership questions and develop financial statements for ownership groups
* Maintain financial information and documents to ensure positive internal and external financial and regulatory audit results and compliance with applicable retention policies
* Assist DHI Communities Controller and senior management in the budgeting process and help ensure that budgets and operating results are properly reported, and variances are explained in accordance with company policy
* Assist in coordination with external parties and recording for any dispositions in accordance with company policy
* Assist in financial and operational coordination of transitions from development through operating and disposition stages
* Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
* Ability to travel overnight
* Regular and reliable attendance

*Supervisory Responsibilities*

Directly manages two or more employees in the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.




*Education and/or Experience*

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
* Five years of related experience
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
* Proficiency with MS Office and email
* Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
* The noise level is generally moderate

*Preferred Qualifications*

* CPA preferred
* Prior experience in the real estate industry preferred
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
