WSP is currently initiating a search for a Quality Assurance Engineer for our Cap Haitian, Haiti project location.  The managing home office is in Washington, D.C.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Quality Assurance Engineer in Cap Haitain responsible to USAID in overseeing quality assurance of the delivery of a $25M construction project to rehabilitate the Cap Haitien Port.
  • Serve as a Deputy to the Lead onstruction Manager to supervise, manage and provide technical leadership to an international and local staff in providing construction management, construction inspection, quantity verification, contractor RFIs, change order management, submittal reviews, records management, quality assurance, safety, and other tasks associated with being the Owner's Representative on a major construction project from a quality assurance role.
  • Prepare and present oral and / or written presentations on the project quality to USAID, GoH, or other official audiences; prepare and submit quality assurance reports to USAID and WSP home office.
  • Inspect and report on construction contractor quality assurance / quality control program enforcement and compliance.
  • Oversee and orchestrate testing and laboratory submittals.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 10 years of direct experience in construction of ports or similar maritime facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related concentration from an accredited US college or university, or international equivalent
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of quality assurance in construction projects
  • Must be fluent in English; conversational French and/or Creole is preferred
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Haiti experience
  • Prior USAID experience
  • Prior project QA experience
