Human Resource Generalist

Position Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist \u0026#8239;will be the on site HR representative responsible for creating, updating, and applying all Middlesex HR policies and company guidelines for Middlesex team members working on the company\u0027s largest join venture project, Portsmouth Navy Shipyard Multisession Dry Dock 1. This includes full cycle recruitment, candidate sourcing, background checks and drug screening coordination, employment badging, orientation, and other ad hoc duties responsive to the daily needs of our team members and project.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value “ Safety first, in everything we do.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive and effective recruitment strategy for all project open positions.
  • Tend to all Middlesex craft team member inquiries relating to compensation, benefits, and general HR needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR leadership to determine current and future staffing needs.
  • Screen resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in person), administer appropriate assessments, reference/background checking, badging, employment offers, and recommendations for hire (or not hire).
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to achieve staffing requirements.
  • Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates such as attending college career fairs, on-line job fairs, community networking events, etc.
  • Develop and implement advertising programs in order to ensure high visibility of company and a large volume of potential candidates.
  • Follow up with candidates on a periodic basis to a success transition into the company.
  • Conduct new hire orientation on a weekly basis.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor€™s Degree along with 2-5 years€™ experience in Recruitment or Staffing.
  • Domestic travel as necessary (New England).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to change direction in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong social media skills with the ability to maintain and initiate social media recruiting campaigns.\u0026#8239;
