Job Details

As a Regional Finance Manager working for Taylor Morrison you will partner with our Corporate and Field leadership to ensure thorough, accurate, timely and strategic financial management of the business.

What Youll Do

  • Provide recurring analytical, reporting and general financial management support to:
    • Chief Field Operations Officer
    • Vice President of Field Finance
    • Field Finance Directors
    • Field Leadership (on ad hoc basis)
  • Work frequently with information Technologies and FP&A on the creation/standardization of Reporting needs
    • Assist with creation/testing of standardized Operational reports
    • Ad-hoc analytical support that spans both financial and operational focus areas
    • Maintain and complete other recurring analytical and operational reports/tasks
  • Assist with QoQ and YoY analysis to Leadership for Earnings guidance
  • Work frequently with entire Field Finance team and Divisions on the Flash process
    • Point person on team to work with Information Technologies on improving and maintaining Flash file/process
    • Quarterly reporting on estimates used for Earnings guidance
  • Work frequently with Information Technologies and entire Field Finance team on the Forecast process
    • Point person on team to work with Information Technologies on improving and maintaining Forecast templates/process
    • Quarterly reporting on Total Company details for CFOO and VPFF
  • Work quarterly on the Impairment review process with entire Field Finance team and Corporate Accounting for SOX
    • Point person on team for improving and maintaining Impairment templates/process
    • Quarterly reporting on any Under Performing Watchlist projects
  • Assist in best practices to monitor operational metrics to communicate risks and challenges including, but not limited to:
    • Sales pipeline
    • Production cycle
    • Backlog
    • Sell-to-close
    • Spec inventory
    • Over/under performing communities
    • Community opening schedule
  • Collaborate with Corp Accounting and Internal Audit to create and roll out guidance in accordance with GAAP and SOX
  • Serve as one of the liaisons between Corporate and Field teams
  • Point person for best practices on KPIs for communicating actual and forecasted trends to Area President, Division Presidents and VPs of Finance
  • Provide support to Division teams to drive improvement efforts as needed
  • Be the Field Finance point person to work with Corp Land department on land investment templates/updates
  • Assist with Area Finance conferences, Controller conferences and VPF conferences to develop the Division Finance teams, share best practices, and create operational efficiencies
  • Provide support to Corporate Finance/Accounting teams in preparation for Earnings cycles and SEC filings
  • Analytical and underwriting support for purposes of evaluating acquisition targets
  • Part of the team expected to integrate, standardize, and evolve the Field operations for the Company
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You might be just who were looking for if you have

  • 5+ years experience in total Finance/Accounting
  • 2+ years Finance/Accounting experience in the homebuilding, land development and/or construction industry is preferred
  • Knowledge of cost accounting (specifically construction industry)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with finance and accounting systems and software with the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Computer literacy, including excellent Excel skills

FLSA Status: Exempt

Will have responsibilities such as:

  • Office or non-manual work, which is directly related to management or general business operations
  • Act as a primary component of which involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance

  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to oversee direct reports daily and provide guidance as needed
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher level manager
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Comply with company policies and procedure

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

*Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
