WSP is currently initiating a search for a Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operations Supervisor for our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Administrative functions, such as shift scheduling, liaison with the RTMC management, hiring, training, and public relations
  • Continuous supervision of 24 hours/day, 7 days/week operations being on-call outside normal shift and at other selected times
  • Facilitate operations by guiding critical control room operation decisions, developing special events response plans, guidance during severe events, and generating severe event response reports
  • Coordinating control room activities by assisting in managing responses to disasters and high profile special events and accommodating the data needs of special agencies and third parties, etc.
  • Responsible for day-to-day monitoring and balancing of the control room activities, direction, and incentives among staff, and develop team atmosphere
  • Develop ideas on how to implement system and operational improvements (e.g., modifications in software, hardware, field equipment, operations and coordination procedures, etc.,) to increase the efficiency of the control room operations

Requirements

<div><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong>:</div> <ul> <li>Two years of experience in a RTMC or in a facility similar to a RTMC</li> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Valid driver license in accordance with the Florida Division of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles</li> <li>Must successfully complete the Joint Task Force (JTF) Security Clearance Process, which includes fingerprinting</li> <li>Effective written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Full-range of physical mobility, visual acuity, and the ability to sit for long periods of time</li> <li>Operational knowledge and skill in the use of Window’s operating system and Microsoft Office</li> <li>Ability to work alternate schedules (which may include overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays) and short-notice shift assignments when necessary</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></div> <ul> <li>Experience in a transportation dispatch or call center environment</li> <li>Familiarity with arterial roadways and freeway systems in South Florida</li> <li>Ability to work at alternate locations for the FDOT District 4 TMC when necessary (Palm Beach ITS Center in West Palm Beach, FL and FHP Troop L Headquarters in Lake Worth, FL)</li> <li>Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred, but not required</li> </ul> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA </strong></div> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms. Dedicated to serving local communities, we are engineers, planners, technical experts, strategic advisors and construction management professionals. WSP USA designs lasting solutions in the transportation, buildings, energy, water and environment sectors.
