WSP is currently initiating a search for a Resident Engineer for our New York, New York office, working  out of the project office in New Jersey.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitors construction according to approved drawings and specifications
  • Oversees construction contractor’s compliance with contract documents
  • Supervises construction inspection teams
  • Manages office engineering and administration teams
  • Assigns construction inspection personnel on a daily basis
  • Reviews and signs off on inspector daily reports
  • Prepares Resident Engineer’s reports
  • Observes and reports on field quality control tests
  • Records and reports on any deviations from the contract documents
  • Verifies and documents corrective actions
  • Keeps detailed records of contractor’s performance and progress
  • Interacts with client representatives daily
  • Leads construction change management and control process
  • Manages internal budget and schedule compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

<div><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></div> <div> </div> <div class="O0"> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering</li> <li>A minimum of 10+  years of construction management and inspection experience</li> <li>Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer</li> <li>Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection construction, testing and commissioning</li> <li>Excellent communications skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently as a cooperative team member</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></div> <div> </div> <div class="O0"> <ul> <li>OSHA 30 hour certification</li> <li>Prior aviation work experience</li> <li>PE would be beneficial</li> <li>Prior PANYNJ experience</li> </ul> </div> <div> </div> <div><strong>About WSP USA</strong></div> <div><strong> </strong></div> <div>WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
