WSP is currently initiating a search for a Roadway Engineering Manager for our Colorado Springs, Colorado office.  This position will function as the lead roadway engineer on major projects for local agency clients, including cities, counties, and regional transportation planning authorities.  Many projects will involve state and local highways and require oversight by CDOT, City and County of Denver and surrounding municipalities, and FHWA.  As a design lead, this position works as part of a project team and leads civil design work including the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Leading a team of engineering in delivering tradition and design build projects
  • Monitoring task process and staffing requirements
  • QA/QC
  • Monitoring budget and schedule for assigned tasks
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead projects from conceptual engineering, preliminary engineering, and final design
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, including roadway, traffic, structures, hydraulics/drainage, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way, environmental, and erosion control
  • Ensure production of specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements
  • Assist with the development of preliminary engineering concepts and technical performance specifications for design-build RFP’s
  • Provide oversight to design team for various tasks within the scope of a project including training and supervising project team
  • Attend design review meetings and interact with clients
  • Manage project budget and schedule; monitor quality control methods
  • Support efforts in proposal development, including development of client relationships
  • Represents respective projects at meetings with client, stakeholders and contractors
  • May involve travel within the Texas/Mountain Region

Requirements
